Editorial Preface to Volume 1, Issue 2
On behalf of the editorial board, I welcome us all to second edition of JBRCP and immensely thank all our reviewers for all their painstaking effort to ensure that all articles meet the standards of the journal. I also wish to inform us that while the editorial board makes frantic efforts to ensure that every production is error free we still welcome comments and criticisms on already released editions of the journal. This will help and guide us to improve on future editions.
This current edition titled: Effect of Glyphosate on Wistar Rats’ Pituitaries and Gonads reveals the histology of Pituitary gland and hormones of Pituitary-gonadal axis following treatment of rats with glyphosate.
There is a comprehensive review article on type II diabetes mellitus, its complications, and general concern over its rising prevalence in Nigeria and the need for its control. Also a study reveals the primordial peri-natal services that are still rampant in our communities in place of patronizing established health institutions and the grave consequences for the maternal and child health in the state and indeed the nation at large. Other research findings such as: management and outcomes of long bone fractures in children; socio-demographic factors associated with alcohol consumption among women in north-central Nigeria; post-traumatic stress disorders among substance use disorder patients; episiotomy and perineal lacerations in north-central Nigeria; a cross-sectional analysis of exclusive breast-feeding among mothers in Makurdi.
Finally, the article titled: Pattern of prevention-of-mother-to-child-transmission service by private hospitals in makurdi, Nigeria, by Ochejele et al, which was omitted in the previous edition now included. These and many more well researched articles cutting across diverse subspecialties of medicine are carefully packaged for your education and reading delight.
